The Birchal platform currently accepts three types of file formats when uploading documents for the purposes of verifying your identity: JPEG, PNG, and PDF.
On newer iOS devices, including the recent iPhone and iPad, your images may be saved as HEIC files. This is a proprietary file format specific to Apple devices. You can convert or save HEIC files as JPEG using a few different methods.
Method 1. Stop taking HEIC photos
This method means all photos on your device are saved as JPEG by default.
Go to Settings
Tap Camera > Formats
Select Most Compatible
Method 2. Convert existing HEIC photos to JPEG
This method is useful if you already have a document saved on your iOS device in HEIC format. It's not the quickest process, but you can convert the image to JPEG without having to change your device's settings.
Open the Photos app on your phone
Find the image you want to convert and long press on the image
Tap Copy
Open the Files app on your phone and navigate to the On My iPhone section
Long press and tap Paste
Long press on the pasted image and tap Share
Tap Save Image to save the JPEG image back to the Photos app
