PayID is available for domestic AUD transactions only.
To pay for your shares via PayID, nominate 'PayID' as your preferred payment method at step 6 of the investment application. Follow these steps to complete your payment:
Log in to your Birchal account and navigate to My Portfolio.
Select the relevant company under the 'Pending Applications' section.
Choose 'Update Payment Method' and select 'PayID.'
Alternatively, log in to your Birchal account and update your payment method to 'PayID' via 'My Portfolio' > 'Pending Applications' > '[Company Name]' > 'Add/Change Payment Method+'
Once you have selected PayID as your payment method, you can transfer funds from your bank account using the details provided on the screen. Ensure you:
Use your bank’s app or website to make the payment.
Transfer the payment to the provided PayID email address.
Include the exact reference number in the reference field to avoid payment issues.
The PayID provided is an email rather than an organisation ID. Your bank may require you to select 'Pay to email' or similar when choosing the payment method in your banking app or platform.
IMPORTANT: When paying via PayID, you must add your PayID reference number.* If you do not include your PayID reference number, your payment will fail and bounce back to your bank account. If you forget to include the reference number or enter it incorrectly, keep your bank deposit receipt as it contains the necessary details to verify the transaction. Birchal’s finance team will investigate and contact you if there are any issues.
*Your PayID reference number is different from your Investment Reference Number.
Please ensure you click 'I've Completed The Transfer' once you have transferred the funds so that our system recognises that your funds are on the way. Additionally, if you encounter any issues, retain your bank deposit receipt as proof of payment. This can assist in resolving any discrepancies.
NOTE: PayID can take up to 5 business days to process. Please ignore any failed payment notifications or other messages until expiration of this period.
If you have any issues paying via PayID or forget to include your PayID reference number, please contact [email protected]. If your PayID payment fails, consider using an alternative payment method such as Direct Debit or Bank Transfer. Detailed instructions for these methods are available in the related articles section.
