For one reason or another, if you're not able to provide us the authority to do a Direct Debit from an Australian bank account you can complete your payment using PayID (Australia only).

There are two ways you can do this:

  1. Select 'PayID' as your option (not direct debit) when completing your investment application in step 6.

  2. Update your payment method in your portfolio to PayID:

**You must include your PayID reference number or the payment will not go through and will bounce back to your bank account.

**Note there are two reference numbers - your investment reference and your PayID reference. Please use the PayID reference number when making payment and it will link to your investment. Do not use your investment reference when making payment or the payment will bounce back.

2. Update payment details in your portfolio once you have completed your investment application.

  1. Complete your investment

  2. Go to My Portfolio

  3. Update Payment Details for the investment you've made

  4. Complete PayID manually

Note: You will be able to do this AFTER your 5-business day cooling off period has ended. Your cooling off period starts the day after you make your application. Only once the cooling off period has ended will your Birchal portfolio show the add payment option.

Written step-by-step:

1. Log into your My Portfolio investments page and click the yellow 'add payment method' button (screenshot below)

2. Once your click 'add payment method' a new screen will open up asking you to choose your payment method. Click 'PayID'.

Transfer the funds from your financial institution using the details provided on the screen.

**You must include the reference number or the payment will not go through and will bounce back to your bank account.

3. Click the green "I've completed the transfer" button after transferring the funds.

Timeframe to confirm your investment

If the payment reference was entered correctly, a bank transfer can take 3-5 business days to reconcile - so please ignore any failed payment notifications or other messages till after this period expires.

If you forgot to include your reference number- please let us know ASAP on [email protected] so we can match the transfer to your investment and ease off the payment reminder emails! :)
