What happens if the investment offer meets it target early?

If the company has already met its minimum funding target, we will start processing payments before the close date and shortly after the minimum target is met. We notify all investors (via email) that the company has met it's minimum target and we will start processing their payments soon. 

Direct Debits (Australia)

Generally, we collect your payment 2-3 business days after the email notification is sent. The specific date we collect the funds is set on the investment record (viewable in your My Portfolio)

International Payments

We set the due date for international bank transfers at this time and we will send you instructions to make the international payment as soon as possible. 

Note: we currently do not collect payments prior to a company meeting its minimum target.

What happens after the investment offer closes?

Assuming the company has met it's minimum target, we'll start notifying investors (via email) within 48hrs, that we will be processing their payments. 

Direct Debits (Australia)

Generally, we collect the funds 2-3 business days after the notification. Again, the specific date we collect the funds is set on the investment record (viewable in your My Portfolio)

International Payments

We set the due date for international bank transfers at this time and we will send you instructions to make the transfer asap.

How long does the payment process take?

Direct Debits (Australia)

The Direct Debit process takes 3-5 business days. Once the payment has been confirmed and matched against your investment, you'll get an email notification to confirm the payment was received. 

International Payments

This time to process a international payment can be 5-7 business days. It can take an extra 2 business days if the reference was not entered (or entered incorrectly). Once the payment is matched to your investment, you will get an email notification to confirm the payment was received.

You should get in contact with [email protected] if you still have not received an email confirmation after 7 business days. Please forward the remittance to make it easier for us to troubleshoot the payment.

What happens after the share are paid?

Once we receive your payment, we aim to process and settle your shares within a 1-2 weeks. Note: if your payment is late it may be slightly longer.

Issuing Share Certificates

Typically, the companies engage a 3rd party registry service to manage the share registry for the business. This registry service (or the company) will notify you via email when the shares have been issued. The email will include instructions on accessing your account and viewing the share certificates. See example below.

Investor Rewards

The company will send you an email notification on how you can redeem your investment rewards, shortly after the shares have been issued.

What happens next?

Keep an eye out for Activity Updates from Birchal - and share any news or updates with your friends, colleagues and the world. All shareholders are owners - and you are part of the success of the brand.

Will I get informed about the performance of the company?

In our terms and conditions with companies, at a minimum we require our companies to provide twice yearly updates to shareholders on the performance of the company.

However, we send companies regular notifications to the Directors of the company to update shareholders (and all Birchal followers). If you believe you've missed an update or believe the company is not meeting our twice yearly requirements - please let us know by emailing [email protected]
